The Breathing Wall: Connie Michele Morey & Taryn Walker Artist Talk
Join artists Connie Michele Morey and Taryn Walker as they share insight into their project The Breathing Wall. An exhibition, video project, website, and publication that focuses on the concept of a wall as a membrane of historical connectivity between the individual, community, and land. The artists first met through their shared association with arc.hive artist run centre in Victoria, B.C.. Despite being at very different stages of their careers—Morey is a mid-career artist who teaches at the University of Victoria and Camosun College; Walker is an emerging artist who completed her BFA at UVic in 2018—they found common ground through their interests and ways of working. The outcomes of their collaborative efforts have expanded into these different platforms. The exhibition ran from August 21-30 and the catalogue is available through The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria.
