Tour and Art-Making Activity: Trevor Van Den Eijnden's a soul is not made of atoms

a soul is not made of atoms presents several distinct bodies of work by the artist that are thematically linked by an exploration of grief, the Sublime, and our experiences of time and nature. Working in colour, shadow, light, and reflection, Van den Eijnden plays with perceptions and creates intricate patterns and moments of visual pleasure. In doing so, he invites a response to the beauty that persists and can be found in moments of loss, despair, and even in the navigation of a new reality.

This 3-part virtual tour is led by The Reach’s Curator of Art & Visual Culture, Adrienne Fast.

He earned his BFA from NASCAD and his MFA from Emily Carr University, and he is currently the Program Head of the Visual Arts Department at the Visual College of Art and Design. His practice investigates patterning, shadows, and simulacra, filtering these concepts through his own personal lens while also considering how these ideas have played out in the past and how they could manifest in the future.
